Candlelight Orchestral Evening at Yamaha, Soho

The Project

This project involved documenting an exclusive, candlelit orchestral evening hosted at the Yamaha Music flagship store on Wardour Street. Bringing together Yamaha Music, Purdi Jewellery, and Dubel Holdings, the event featured an intimate live performance by composer and pianist Okiem, accompanied by violins.

The aim was to capture the ambient atmosphere of the room and deliver a refined, one-minute highlight film for the participating brands.

Narrative Structure of the Film

To avoid a standard event montage, the final edit follows a clear sixty-second chronological narrative that mirrors the actual guest experience:

01

Setting the Scene:

The film opens with the exterior of the Wardour Street storefront, focusing on the Yamaha branding to establish the location and context immediately.

02

The Welcome:

The narrative moves inside, capturing the opening remarks from the speakers to introduce the collaboration between the host and sponsor brands.

03

The Performance:

The core of the edit focuses on the live music. We utilised tight close-ups of the violinists and Okiem at the piano, capturing the precision and focus of the performance.

04

The Ambient Atmosphere:

Alongside the musicians, the film incorporates candid shots of the guests, relying entirely on the warm, natural candlelight to preserve the true mood of the room and catching the emotions of the guests.

Audio & Post-Production

Because music was the central element of the evening, the post-production process was entirely audio-driven. Okiem’s composition was laid across the entire timeline, serving as the primary soundtrack to the video.

Every cut and camera movement was timed precisely to the progression of the music, resulting in a comprehensive piece of media that the clients used across their respective digital platforms.
